Seven Style Tips for Spring Carnival

I know that there is a huge amount of prize money for the horses, but for me, Spring racing Carnival has always been about the fashion, both Men's and Women's.
In my early days when I did place a bet on a horse, how did I choose? Through looking at the race form, odds? no it was due to the pretty coloured sashes on the horses and jockey's colours.

Seven Style Tips for Spring Carnival

1. Dress appropriately for the weather – so layer up! Be prepared for four seasons in one day and always pack a handbag size umbrella or $3 plastic poncho - nothing looks worse than wet bedraggled hair and clothes.

2. Always aim for elegance and sophistication.

3. Think Less is best- so don’t overdo it. On your way out, view yourself in a full length mirror and remove 1 item.

4. Derby Day is all about Men’s fashion, but women dress up in classic black & white, frock or suits. Adorn with an amazing headgear.

5. Melbourne Cup is all about ‘Fashions on the Field’- gorgeous frocks, hats, shoes, bags and accessories. The idea here is to stand out as unique.

6. Fascinator or Hat? Go the hat which is always elegant. Hats can be swapped with friends for next years carnival, or swapped between race days with friends. If you can afford it, have a hat made just for you, for your face shape, I recommend Peter Jago

7. Oaks Day is all about Women, stylish frocks, floral’s and definitely colour. The key theme today is all about celebrating your femininity. .
